DOCUMENTARY VISION
Sisters Living With Religious Trauma Syndrome® is a feature-length documentary
that examines the effects of religious trauma syndrome, an emerging but seldom
discussed aspect of mental health. Sisters Living with Religious Trauma Syndrome®
will also provide insight and guidelines on how people can heal and return to a
well-balanced lifestyle. More importantly, how theater and storytelling aides,
soothes, and supports, the hurting soul through movement and somatic expression.
Elements of the documentary include Mira’s personal testimonial from her survivor
journey growing up as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, why she still belongs to that
faith, scenes from her one-woman stage play where she acts out her experiences,
and how her natural untapped potential unlocked the door to finding and
reclaiming ‘self’.
